Travel Team News
Travel Team News
Interested in trying out for one of the CBA Travel Teams? Important information is listed below – key dates, eligibility, recent changes to the program, etc.
Key Dates:
- July 21st – final date to submit application to coach a Travel Team
- August 1st – Travel Team Coach interviews completed
- August 4th – Travel Team coaches posted on CBA website
- August 9th -17th – Travel Team tryouts (coaches will determine specific dates; a minimum of two tryout dates is required for each age group)
- August 18th – Travel Team rosters posted on CBA website
Eligibility:
- Live in the 75019 zip code, or
- Attend CISD schools, or
- Play at least one year in the City League program before trying out for a team
Changes to Travel Team program for the Fall 2008 – Spring 2009 season:
- Independent talent evaluators will be on hand to assist the head coaches assess the capabilities of the players
- Only one tryout (August 2008) will be conducted for the Fall 2008 – Spring 2009 seasons (previously there was a separate tryout for the fall and spring seasons)
- For the U13 and U14 age groups, only one Travel Team will be sponsored by CBA
- Within two weeks following the posting of the final roster, the head coach is to obtain a signed contract and a non-refundable deposit of no less than $500 from each player/family (funds will be applied against team expenses – uniforms, tournament entry fees, etc.)

Umpire Training
Umpire Training for Fall 2008 will be held on Sunday, August 31st.
1 - 2:30 pm MAC Park
3-5pm Wagon Wheel Park
Application to apply will be posted later in July.
Required CBA umpire uniform will be available for purchase at both training sessions.
Board Meeting
Next CBA Board Meeting, June 18th.
CBA Annual Board Meeting will be July 16th 7pm at the Coppell Public Library.
