To say this has been a weather challenged season would be an understatement. While we plan each season with an understanding that weather will likely have some impact, what we have experienced this Fall season arguably falls into the "extraordinary circumstances" category. As such, we've been actively working with the city to exercise options for making up as many games as possible which includes extending the season, playing during the week, and playing double headers (for the older ages 9+).
That being said, the reality is we will lose 2 or more of the 8 games originally scheduled. At the moment, our goal is to have our rec teams play 8 games; however, meeting this goal assumes we have little to no weather impact for the remainder of the season, so we want to set expectations appropriately. Our fields have taken a lot of water - A LOT, and the city has done and will continue to do, all it can to get the fields into a safe, playable condition. Unfortunately, there have been several days where the weather has been ideal but the fields are still incredibly soft and deemed unsafe.
Please note, our fall season will end November 18th.
CBA greatly appreciates your support and most importantly, your patience, as we work through this incredibly challenging weather to salvage as much of the season as possible. As always, should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to Laura Jennings or myself.
