11U Cowboys Black three-peat after winning the 2017 TNT Spring Classic
For the 3rd week in a row, the Coppell Cowboys Black swept away their competition and were crowned the 2017 TNT Spring Classic champs! Hitting continued to be red hot as the Cowboys out hit and outscored their competition 44-20 and 44-13 respectively. This was punctuated by Jackson Harms and Ty Witte, each had 2 HRs, both of Jackson’s coming in game 2 and Ty’s second, a grand slam, in the semifinal game! Illness and injury had the Cowboys shorthanded in the championship game and they found themselves down 3-0. However, the Cowboys batted around and scored 7 runs in the bottom of the 3rd which was jumpstarted by David Baker’s leadoff double. Tate Rauschenbach really helped his pitcher by going 3-3 with a double and Damian Abrol “gutted it out” at the plate going 2-3 with 3 RBIs. Tate was able to secure his second championship win as starting pitcher by mixing in a bunch of nasty off speed pitches, allowing him to go the distance while giving up just 3 runs.
Congratulations Cowboys, we’re very proud of you!
