11U Coppell Cowboys Black take 1st in the 2017 Coppell Classic
Congratulations to the 11U Coppell Cowboys Black for going undefeated and taking 1st place in the 2017 Coppell Classic.  The Cowboys secured the second seed Saturday behind strong pitching performances from Jackson Harms and Nate Bloodworth that was combined with great hitting from Jackson, Tate Rauschenbach, David Baker, Gabe Ondrey, and Ty Witte who all had had multi-hit games.  The momentum continued into Sunday where the Cowboys won their first game 15-0 in record time.  Damian Abrol only needed 20 pitches over 3 innings.  The lone scoring threat was gunned down trying to steal by catcher Jake Garcia.  The championship was much closer, requiring all 6 innings. Despite multiple hits each from Jackson, Damian, and Aaron Colby the Cowboys found themselves with a thin lead going into the 3rd.  However, the defense tightened as Sal Alonzo and Riki Koshimizu didn’t let anything through the middle infield and Jake was able gun down his second runner that day.  The Cowboys extended their lead after Jackson was intentionally walked and Damian’s third hit of the game was able to bring him home.  Damian’s dominance continued when he came in to close out the game after he relieved Tate who had 4 strong innings.  Over the weekend the boys out hit their opponents 42-15 and outscored them 45-17!
